Tenth country wordwide to legalize same-sex marriage.
This law was legalized on July 21, 2010
By a vote of 33 to 27, they gave homosexual couples the same inheritance and adoption rights as heterosexual ones.

(Nigeria)
The bill was passed on January 18, 2007
Gay marriage is illegal and it is also illegal to organizations to support them.
Homosexuality can land men up to 14 years in prison in South Nigeria.
A bill might be passed to prohibit gay and lesbians to adopt
The bill now awaits the signature of President Goodluck Jonathan to become law or his veto to scuttle it.
This could put the foreign AIDS and HIV outreach programs in jeopardy.
The bill, which was passed by the Senate in November 2011, carries a 10-year prison sentence for offenders who are deemed to have formed a gay rights club or organization.
